Fruit And Vegetables
My favourite fruit are apples, because they are colourful, juicy and crunchy. My favourite vegetables are carrots, because they are also nice and crunchy. Fruit and vegetables have vitamins in them which are good for our bodies. Vitamins make you fit and strong, and they help our bodies to fight off germs and viruses. You see, God made fuit and vegetables for us to eat because they make us healthy, they help to prevent us from getting sick. I love my fruit and vegetables.

Maths: We are solving Maths Number questions.
Question
George has 12 drinks and Roneeza has 10 drinks. How many drinks to they have altogether?
Roneeza said that we needed to use addition to work out the answer.
We made tens and used addition to help us to answer the question.
We said that
12 + 10
= 10 + 2 + 10
= 10 + 10 + 2
= 20 + 2
= 22
Answer: They had 22 drinks altogether.
Question
Roneeza and Oliver bought 18 soccer balls and 10 bouncy balls. How many balls did they buy altogether?
We made tens to help us to answer the question.
We said that
18 + 10
= 10 + 8 + 10
= 10 + 10 + 8
= 28
Answer: They bought 28 balls altogether.
Question
Oliver and George went to McDonald's. They bought some burgers that cost $54.00 altogether. Then they bought some frozen cokes that cost $20.00 altogether. How much did their food cost altogether?
We made tens to help us to answer the question.
We said that
54 + 20
= 50 + 4+ 20
= 50 + 20 +4
= 70 + 4
= 74
Answer: Their food costs $74.00 altogether.
Question
George, Oliver and Roneeza went to the Warehouse. They bought a soccer ball which cost $12.00, a basketball which cost $11.00 and a controller for an X-Box which cost $10.00. How much money did they spend?
George, Oliver and Roneeza used addition to solve our question.
We made tens to help us to answer the question.
We said that
12.00 + 11.00 + 10
= 10 + 2 + 10 + 1 + 10
= 10 + 10 + 10 + 2 + 1
= 30 + 3
= 33
Answer: We spend $33.00 at the Warehouse.

Mother’s Day
On Mother’s Day my family and I went
to our church. When we got there we saw
some balloons and flowers. The balloons
were pink and white. The flowers were
very colourful.
First some boys performed a show. It was really funny because the boys wore
dresses and lipstick. They had to act
like girls.
On our way back home my sister and I
gave our mum our Mother’s Day cards. She
was very pleased. She smiled and gave us hugs and kisses. When we got home we watched a movie. It was about a magician whose name was
Zo. It was a good movie and we hadn’t
seen it before.
My mum, my dad, my sister and I had a
fabulous Mother’s Day.
