My Sleep Over

In the holidays I slept over at Gloria’s house.  Gloria is my cousin.  First we went to the $2 Shop together.  At the $2 shop we bought a Frozen pencil case.  Then I asked my Mum if I could sleep over at Gloria’s house.  My Mum said, “Yes”. 

At night Gloria’s brother kept waking us up.  His name is Kep.  Then we went into the lounge to see Victoria.  Victoria is Gloria’s baby sister.  She is a happy baby and very cute.  She is little. 

After that Gloria said, “Let’s go to sleep now”.  I said, “OK Gloria”.  The next day Gloria and I played together and we also played with Victoria.  I was happy playing with my friends.

The Aeroplane Movie

In the holidays I went to America with my Mum and Dad.  On the plane I watched the ‘Flash’ movie.  The movie screen was on the back of the seat and I had little earphones.

The main character in the movie was ‘The Flash’.  The Flash’s real name was Barry. At the beginning of the movie Barry didn’t know that he was ‘The Flash’. 

One night Barry was woken up by a loud sound.  It was coming from downstairs.  Barry went downstairs and he noticed that the water in the fish tank was floating in the air.  It was moving slowly but there was nothing holding it up.  There were also some lightening men in the lounge.  The red one killed Barry’s mother.  The green one took Barry to safety.  The green man was actually Barry from the future, but the present day Barry didn’t know.

In the middle of the movie Barry dreamt that he had run to find his father, but his father had been taken to prison by the police.  This turned out to be real.

  

At the end of the movie something at Star Labs blew up.  It was called the Particle Accelerator.  When it blew up it gave lots of people special powerful abilities.  There were only two good people who were affected by these special powers.  They were Barry and a girl.  The people that Barry had to fight were bullies from his school.  Sometimes Barry succeeded and sometimes he didn’t, so he tried again.  The movie had a good ending because Barry found out who killed his mother.  It was a man who was in disguise.  Barry succeeded in putting this man in a special prison.

Rotorua

In the holidays I went to Rotorua with my family.  My cousins and my auntie and uncle, from Hamilton, came too.  We did lots of fun things in Rotorua.

First we went on the Luge.  A Luge is like a slide but you sit in a big cabin and a machine next to the outside panel takes a photo of you.  Then it gets going and you go down a really, really, steep slide.  It was really, really, fast and my heart beat fast!  My six year old cousin yelled loudly as we speed down the slide. 

After that we got ten boxes of goodies from the candy shop.  There was candy inside the boxes.  They were yellow and green and they tasted sour like lemons.  I thought they tasted yummy.  But when my mum tasted them she said, “aahhhh, it tastes terrible”!

Next we went to the café.  We ate spaghetti and we drank hot milo.  We were cold so the hot food helped to warm us up.  It tasted really, really, yum. 

 Later we went to Rainbow Springs.  It was a real cool.  There was a talking American parrot.  It said, “Hello” to us.  I said, “Hello” back to the parrot.  The trainer said that I was the first kid to ever make the parrot talk at Rainbow Springs.  I also saw a kiwi.  It had a big, big yellow beak and I saw the baby kiwis hatching.  They were very small and cute.  I really, really want to go back to Rotorua again soon.

The Party

One night in the holidays my family and I went to a party.  It was the African Community Party.  We had been looking forward to it for a while.  It was held in a room next to the hall.  Usually we are in the hall but someone else had booked before us.

First, when we got there, we said our prayers.  Then we said hi to each other and we had a chat. After that we put the music on.  The music was on a CD.  It was African music.

Then my dad arrived.  He and my uncle talked to each other and I stood with them.  Next my sister and I danced.  The whole crowd started to dance.  We did fast dancing and slow dancing.  I like dancing.

Later we ate some food.  Everyone bought some food to the party.  I ate red soup and chicken.  I ate all of it and it tasted good.  Finally it was home time and I said goodbye to everyone.  There were 55 people at the party.  Sometimes we have about one hundred and eighty people at our African Community Party.  I had a good time.

The Swimming Pools

In the holidays I went to the swimming pools with my family.  Before we left home we changed into our swimming togs and then we went to the pools in our car.

At the pools I swam with my cousin.  My cousin’s name is Necola.  She is older than I am.  My mum and my dad also swam with us.  It was cold in the little pool.  I couldn’t swim in the big pool because it is for the grownups.

Later, when I had finished swimming I hopped out of the pool and my mum said that it was home time.  Next I had a shower and then I got changed into my clothes.

After we had all gotten dressed into our warm clothes we went outside and had some lunch.  I had Nuttala sandwiches.  They tasted yum.

After that we went home because we were all tired from swimming.  I had lots of fun with my family at the swimming pool.

Going To The City

In the holidays my aunty, my sisters and I went on a train ride to the city.  I saw lots of people on the train and they were all quiet.  We went inside a tunnel.  It was very dark and I could see my sisters’, and my own, reflection in the window.

When we got off the train we were in the city.  We walked along Custom Street and went into some shops.   We did some shopping.  I bought a colouring book and some colouring pens.

After we had finished shopping we went to eat at McDonald’s.  It was the McDonald’s in the shopping mall.  We ate chips and burgers, and some chicken nuggets.  They tasted good.  Then we caught the train back to Glen Innes.

We had fun going to the city in the train.  I want to go on the train to the city again soon.

At The Swimming Pool

In the holidays I went to the swimming pool with my family.  My family included my brothers, sisters, cousins, nana, aunties and uncles.  My mum and dad didn’t come with us because they were working.

We travelled to the swimming pool in two vans.  First, when we got to the pool, we put on our swimming clothes. Then we went to swim in the swimming pool. 

It was nice and warm in the swimming pool.  I had lots of fun in the pool.  I splashed water all over myself and it felt good.  Then I swam up and down the pool.  Some of my brothers and sisters also swam up and down the pool.  After that I went on the slide.  There was water coming down the slide and it ended in the swimming pool.  I slid down the slide very fast and then splashed into the pool. 

After that I looked for my auntie and nana, but they were over in the hot pool.  When I found my nana I told her that I wanted something to eat.  She laughed and pushed me into the water.  I laughed too. 

Then I needed to find my brother, and I partnered up with my sister.  We all went to eat some food together.  I ate chips and I had a drink of water.  Then I was tired.  Not everyone in my family was tired.  Finally we left the pools and we went back home.  I like going to the swimming pools.
