My Granddad

In the holidays my family and I had a sad time.  One day my granddad had a bad fall.  My mum called the doctor, but granddad passed away. 

Later the hearse came to take Granddad to the Marae.  After that all of our family and friends came to the Marae.  At the Marae we had the Tangi to say our final goodbyes to Granddad.  I love you Ganddad, and happy birthday.

In The Holidays

In the holidays I played with my brother and sister. We saw my cousins, my aunty and my uncle.  They came to visit us. When they arrived I said hi to my cousins. Then they said hi back to me. Next I   got the soccer ball. Then my brothers and sisters and I played soccer with my cousin. While we played soccer my parents talked with my uncle and aunty.  Later it was time to eat so I went and told all of the adults to come and eat.  Then they all came inside to eat and my aunty said that we needed to wash our hands first.  Before we ate we said our prayer and then we ate our food.

After lunch we went to the the large room and watched cartoons on TV. My cousins and I felt very tired so we went inside my room and had a sleep. My holiday was a lot of fun.

My Holiday Recount!!! ☺

On my holiday I was very busy.  Firstly I helped my mum to plant the plantations, and secondly I went and picked up the rubbish. Thirdly I washed the bathtub and fourthly I cleaned up my room and vacuumed it.

When I had finished helping my mum I went inside my room and played on the playstation with my little brother.  My little brother’s name is Alex. Finally we ended up tired, and my little brother Alex won the racing car game.

Later my mum called us to come and eat lunch.  Alex and I went and ate lunch and the lunch was so delicious and tasty.

My Weekend With My Friend Fiona.

I had so much fun on the weekend. My friend, Fiona, came over to play with me. We went to my backyard to play watertight.  My friend was happy because I was kind to her.

After that we went and changed our clothes and put them inside the washing machine.  Then my mum came and turned the machine on to do the washing.

Next my friend and I went and ate our lunch.  After that Fiona’s mum came and picked her up.  Before she went home Fiona said to me that I'm such a lovely and caring friend. 

On the weekend I had so much fun with friend Fiona.

InThe Holidays

In the holidays I went on a picnic. I went with my mum, my dad and my big sister.  My big sister’s name is Christine.  We went to Point England Park for our picnic.

First, when we got to the park, we ate our food and we had cupcakes.  My mum made our cupcakes. They tasted minty.  I liked them very much.

After we had eaten my big sister and I went to play at the playground.  I played on the big slide and then my big sister took me to the swing.  My sister pushed me on the swing. I went up high.

Later we went back to mum and dad to have a drink of orange Fanta.  Then my sister and I went to the car to get my teddy bear.  Next we went back to the playground.  After we had played for a while we had to go home.  I had lots of fun at our picnic.

At Rainbows End

During the holidays my family and I went to Rainbows End to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. His name is Giovanni.  He is at the same school as me, but he is older.  Giovanni is in Year 8. 

My auntie, and all of her family, came to pick up my family and I to take us to Rainbows End.  But when she arrived my family and I were still dressing.  My auntie waited for us to finish dressing. 

First, after we had gotten into my auntie’s car, we put on our seat belts.  Then my auntie drove us to Rainbows End.

When we got to Rainbows End I went to get the tickets.

The first thing I went on was the Racing Cars.  When I pressed the red key, and then the car went.  My sister and I raced each other and I beat her.  Everyone watching us knew that I was being a good driver. 

Next we went to the lady who had given us our tickets.  We said goodbye to her and we wished her a good holiday.  Then she said to me that I was good at driving.  I said, “Thank you”.  Then she gave me a necklace.  It sparkled like diamonds. 

After that we were both tired so we went to have a little rest.  Then it was time to go home.  We all had a happy family day having fun at Rainbows End.

To Sylvia Park

During the holidays my mum and I went to Sylvia Park.  First we went to the movies and bought our tickets so that we could watch a movie later on.

After that we went to the mini golf place.  It is outside.  It has a fence, but it does not have any windows to the outside or a roof.  We got our golf sticks and our balls from the lady.

Then we played mini golf together.    We had to shoot the ball over the water and I got it in the window.   Then it was mum’s turn.  Mum hit her ball and it landed in the water.  Then I got it in the hole.  It was fun for my mum and I.

After we had finished playing mini golf we went to the bouncy thing.  I jumped really high on the bouncy thing.  Mum tried to get me to do a back flip.  I tried but I couldn’t do it that time.  It was cool as.

Next we went to the movies.  We watched Pan.  Pan is cool.  Blackbeard is cool.  Pan could fly.  Blackbeard said, “Look at Pan”.  Pan flew and landed safely.  When he woke up he was in Blackbeard’s ship.  Peter Pan was the special one.  Blackbeard said, “Do you want some chocolate”.  Pan said, “Yes”.  It was an exciting movie.  Mum and I liked it.

In the holidays I played with my cousins.  First we played tag.  Next we had dinner.  After we had dinner we had ice cream.  It was flavoured chocolate and strawberry.  It tasted yummy.

In The Holidays

In the holidays I celebrated my brother’s superhero 5^th happy birthday.  My brother’s name is Jacob.  We went to Bounce and Beyond entertainment centre. 

My mum said, “First we will put the Happy Meals out”, and she did.  We had to wait to eat our Happy Meals until my brother had put on his costume.  Next the rest of us put our costumes on.  I was Super Girl.  My brother was Flash.  My sister was Spider Girl.  My cousin Gloria dressed up as Wonder Girl.

After that the little kids sat down and my brother Jacob did his dance, for his birthday.  Then we opened our Happy Meals and we ate them.  They tasted yum. 

Later that day I played with my brother and cousin.  We played on the Bouncy Castle and finally we packed all of our things.  We took the presents back home. 

When we got back home my brother opened one present.  It was a toy gun with sling shots.  Then he opened all of his presents.  He was really happy with his presents and I had a terrific day too. 

During The Holidays

During the holidays my family and I went to a concert.  My family and I dressed in our best clothes.  We all looked nice.   

At the concert there were a lot of people.  There was nice food and water to drink.  Some people were selling a Filipino TV set.  It had a lot of channels. 

Inside the concert I saw my older friend.  Her name is Madel.  She was with her dad.  Her mum is in the Philippines because her mum is sick. 

The show began.  While we watched, my brother and I ate chocolate, bread and some chips. 

First we watched a video of Mega world. 

I saw a person with a microphone.  He read out the names of people who work at a Filipino TV station. 

Next we saw a kid get up on the stage.  He was 11 years old.  He was going to sing.  After he sang the stage man asked him if he liked playing minecraft.  The kid replied, “Yes!”  After that a man sang the song ‘I believe I can fly’.  He was good at singing and so was the kid.

 We saw the celebrity man.  When he went on stage the audience screamed and cheered.  Later we watched him act like he was in a movie.  He was very clever and he was good at making jokes.  We all laughed at his jokes.

Finally, when the show was over, we went home.  It was a fantastic day.

In The Holidays

In the holidays my family and I went to King of the Mountain.  First my mum and I went to get some food for the race.  Next my coach said it was my turn to go in the race.  In the race I ran so fast. 

After that we ate some food at the King of the Mountain to have a break.  Then we went out to dinner at a KFC restaurant.  I had some chips and a burger. 

Later we went home to have a rest.  At home I played with my toys.  I played in my bedroom.  Finally we went on the computer to play Minecraft.  In Minecraft I made a shopping mall and a pet shop.  In my pet shop there were cats and dogs.  In my shopping mall there were toys, phones, food, and beds for when you are tired.   If two cats or dogs are fed together they make a baby.  After playing Minecraft, it was time for bed.  I had an awesome day!!

In the holidays I played with my cousins.  First we played tag.  Next we had dinner.  After we had dinner we had ice cream.  It was flavoured chocolate and strawberry.  It tasted yummy.

Holidaying In Hamilton

In the holidays I went to Hamilton to visit my cousins.

First we went to my auntie’s store.  While we were there we painted the store green and yellow.  While my dad was working on the appliances I learnt about Maths suduko and Albert Einstein.  Now I know about Albert Einstein.  He was the smartest person in the world in 1997. 

After that I did Maths.  It did Algebra and multiplication.  Then my cousin and I played cards.  The name of the card game was Last Card.  To play this game you get half of the cards then you take one of your cards and place it on the floor.  Then you put 2 cards on the floor.  I won.  Then we watched Pirates of the Caribbean.  It was about a pirate that likes treasure and he fights bad pirates.  I watched 3 parts of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie.  It was a so, so, so, fantastic, very fantastic movie!  I wish I could go back to Hamilton so much.

Bounce And Beyond

In the holidays my family and I went to Bounce and Beyond.  It is an entertainment centre for children.  When we got there we started playing. 

At Bounce and Beyond there was a rock climb.  At first I thought it was too high.  My mum said to me to go to the top.   Then I climbed to the top of the rock climb.  I was very brave up there.  Then I had friends.  My friends were kind to me.

After that my family and I had ice blocks.  Later my friends left.  Then we left too and we went back home.  I had so much fun going to Bounce and Beyond.  I want to go there again soon. 

At home my sister and I played together.  I had fun all day.  I was very happy.

Going To Bounce And Beyond

During the holidays my family and I went to Bounce and Beyond.  Bounce and Beyond is an entertainment centre for children.  Adults can come in too, but first they have to pay.

First, my family and I changed into our best clothes. 

Next we all got into the car, and we remembered to put on our seatbelts. 

After that I asked my mum, “Where are we going?”  My mum said “It’s a surprise!”  When we got to our destination my sister and I were surprised.  Then we shouted, “Bounce and Beyond!”  Then we all went inside while my mum paid.

At Bounce and Beyond you have to wear socks at all times.  Bounce means that everything inside is bouncy, and it is fun.  There is a climbing wall and a wreaking ball.  They are two of my favourites.  There is also a little Island.  The Island is next to the café.  There is a queen chair.  It is bouncy and there is a crown on top. 

Finally it was time to go home.  I had so much fun at Bounce and Beyond.  I hope to go there another time. 

During The Holidays

During the holidays I went to Pt England beach with my family.  We live near Pt England beach.  It’s a good beach because it is good for swimming and I like to go swimming. 

First we played hide and seek and I was in.  I found Natalia.  Natalia is my older sister.  Next we swam in the water.  It was nice and warm.  Then we had lunch.  We had a picnic lunch.  We had sandwiches, grapes, and strawberries.  Later we had an ice cream on the way home. 

When we got home I had a shower.  When I got out of the shower I got changed and watched TV.  I watched a movie.  It was called Frozen.  It was about a girl called Elsa. Then my dad said, “It’s time for dinner”.  I had great day. 

In The Holidays

In the holidays I went to the park with my family.  I had a swing and also I had a slide.  I swung high in the air.  It felt great and it was fun.

Later in the holidays I went to Palmerston North in the car.  I went with my mum, my aunty and my dad.  We visited my nana.  She was very happy to see us. 

At my nana’s house I fed the goldfish.  The goldfish live in a glass fish tank with their mum and dad. They have a house which is brown and red.  They all love it!  They have lots of green plants to make their home into an undersea world. 

In the evening I felt a little earthquake.  It scared me.  After that the earthquake stopped shaking our house.  Christopher said, “Who’s making our house shake?”  “It was an earthquake”, said mum.  It was an exciting visit to nana’s house. 

My Cousin's Birthday

In the holidays I went to my cousin’s birthday.  My cousin turned 11 years old.  First we celebrated my cousin’s birthday and we sang a happy birthday song.  Next my cousin’s brother and I ate pizza.  After that we were very full.  Then we watched the movie Clash of the Clans.  It was cool.  It was cool because there were some Picals and Max Golems, a Dragon and a Max Wizard. 

Later we played hide and go seek.  I was the one doing the counting.  The first person I found was my brother Christian, then I found my cousin.  Finally my dad brought our gufull blanket and our pillow.  We slept over at my cousin’s house.

Going To Kelly Tarlton's

In the holidays my mum, my little sister and I went to Kelly Tarlton’s.  Kelly Tarlton’s is a sea aquarium and it is built under the ground and near the sea.

At Kelly Tarlton’s we saw some old things from a long time ago.  I think they were from the 1930’s.  We saw old beds and old gear.  There was also a music box.  It was already playing when we got there.  We all liked listening to it. 

Next we saw the penguins.  They were swimming and playing together.  One of the penguins was clapping backwards with its flippers.  After that we saw some fish. 

In the first room we saw dolphins and some big fish.  We also saw some stingrays.  Two of the stingrays were in the shape of a stone and the other one was swimming around.  It looked like it was flying. Their tails had been cut off so that they didn’t bang them on the glass.

Then we had a play and a drink. In the other room there were some sharks.  There were some big sharks.  They didn’t eat the fish.  It was cool to see a shark.   There was also a scorpion fish.  It was red and white.  I learnt lots of interesting things at Kelly Tarltons.

Big Hero Six Movie

On the weekend I watched a movie.  It was called Big Hero Six.  This is a story of good versus evil.  In this movie there are good robots and bad robots.  After much fighting between the opposing sides, as usual, the good robots won. 

One of the main characters in the story is a boy who has a good brain and can make things.  He can make robots.  Another main character in the movie is Big Hero six.  He is a robot.  There was also a bad guy.  The bad guy could control microbots.  The microbots will do anything that you tell them. 

The movie was funny.  For example when Big Hero Six was trying to get through a window he was too big so he had to let out some air.  Big hero was trying to let out air quietly but he made lots of noise!!

During the movie I ate an ice cream and some cookies.  Then I brushed my teeth.  I said goodnight to my mum and dad and I went to bed. 

In The Holidays

In The holidays I went to see my cousin.  His name is Hehaun.  He is just a baby so I could feed him and play with him.  Then it was time to give him a sleep.   After that we went home and my cousin came to my motel.  We played with my play dough.  Then my big sister came to pick up Hehaun and they went home.

In the holidays I went to the Warehouse with my Dad.  We bought a nerve gun.  It was cool .  I had fun playing with it.

Going The Movies

In the holidays my dad, my brother and I went to the movies to watch Peter Pan.  First we got our popcorn, drinks and our tickets.  Next we went up the stairs and we gave the man our tickets. 

After that we went inside, where the movie was to be held.  Then we looked for our seats.  So we found our seats and then we watched Peter Pan.  The movie was on, but first they showed an advertisement.  We drank our juice and ate our popcorn.  

The movie was about a boy who went to school, and some pirates.  The pirates took the children to Neverland.  Then the pirates pushed the boy onto the plank and the boy fell off the ship.  Instead of falling into the sea the boy flew.  Everyone called him Peter Pan because he had the Pan necklace.  At the end of the movie Peter Pan got the children out of bed and took them to his friend on the pirate ship.  It was a good movie. 

Rainbows End

On Saturday I went to Rainbows End with my family.  We went in Phil’s car. 

First we went on the dodgems.  I banged my cousin’s dad.  I banged into Rob.  We all banged into each other.  Nana screamed because poppa wouldn’t stop banging into us and Caleb bumped us.  We went back and forwards.  When you bump into each other you go forwards and backwards.  We all had fun. 

Next we got on the family kart but you are not allowed to bump into each other. The family karts have no bumpers so it’s not safe to bump into each other.   

After that my nana, aunty, Rob and Phil went on the fear fall.  Phil was really scared.  As the fear fall slowly went up everyone was quiet but when the fear fall raced down everyone screamed, only Rob was brave.

Then we got candy floss.  My mum and my cousin’s dad couldn’t stop eating mine and Caleb’s candy floss.

Later we went home. My feet were sore and I had a shower.  Then we had dinner.  After that I read a book and Theo and I went to bed. 

Fruit And Vegetables

My favourite fruit are apples, because they are colourful, juicy and crunchy.  My favourite vegetables are carrots, because they are also nice and crunchy.  Fruit and vegetables have vitamins in them which are good for our bodies.  Vitamins make you fit and strong, and they help our bodies to fight off germs and viruses.  You see, God made fuit and vegetables for us to eat because they make us healthy, they help to prevent us from getting sick.  I love my fruit and vegetables.

A Rainbow In The Sky

When I see a rainbow in the sky I feel so happy,
I want to sing about it.
I dance through the hallway
and then I go outside singing loudly.  
Not too loud, just like an inside voice.  
And later I go inside again
and I eat a rainbow cupcake that our mum made us. 
I love rainbows.

 

My Weekend

On the weekend, I read lots of books at home with my parents. And then my parents told me to read more books because it helps me in my knowledge. After I went in my room and read lots and lots of stories.

When I finished reading my stories, I write what I’m reading about in my stories. After when I finish reading and writing, I went with my friends at the backyard of my house. My weekend was so exciting and fun.

On Father's Day

On the weekend my family and I celebrated Father's Day.  We celebrated Father's Day at church.  It was held at my uncle's house. When we got to my uncle's house we waited untill the church service had started.  When got inside we sang the first song and after that Father said something.  Then we sang again.  After that we listened to the first Bible reading and the second Bible reading.  Then we listened to the Gospel which Father read.

When the Gospel reading had finished we had Holy Communion. This means that they give out the bread and the wine.  The adults have the bread and the wine and the kids get blessed.  Finally, Father went to the front and we said a prayer.  Later our church service was finished.  It was fun to sing to the Lord and listen to Bible readings.  Then we all went home and played outside.

The Church Strand

In Religious Studies we have been learning about the Church Strand.  We have learnt that for us the word church doesn't mean the building in which we go to worship God together. The word church refers to the people who are in our chuch community.  We can worship God anywhere because he is always with us and he always listens to us.  We don't have to be in a church building to talk and pray to God.  We have also learnt about Jesus being baptised by John the Baptist, who was his older cousin.  John said, "Here is the Lamb of God" who takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29).  John encouraged people to, "Come and see".  We talked abou how Jesus called the four fishermen to be his Disciples.  Then he called some more men to be his Apostles.  This was the beginning of our early church.  The church is, and always was, about the people who come together to worship God.  We liked learning about the early church and what it means for us today.

Father's Day

On Father's Day we went to Denny's restaurant.  There was my mum, dad, little brother and I.   We got some sourbread for my dad and he was happy.  We had other things to eat too.  I said, "You are the best dad".  My dad said, "Thank you Caylin".  I had a fun day!

Father's Day

On Father's Day I packed up my things.  Then I helped to tidy up the house.  When I had finsihed I had a shower and brushed my teeth.  Then I got ready for our Father's Day breakfast.  After breakfast I went and tidied up my room again because my older brother needed a pencil.  His name is Tautoua.  Then I finished tidying up the house.  After that I did my homework and some handwriting.  My mum and dad had gone shopping.

Later I played with my older brother on the playstation . The game we played was called Black Cups. Then we heard the sound of our car.  We knew that our mum and dad were back home from the shops.  We had all made our dad Father's Day Cards.  My dad liked his Father Day Cards and he said, Thank You".

After that we got ready to go to the beach.  First we put our things into the van.  My cousin, anutie, uncle and nana went in anther van.  Then we drove to the beach.  At the beach I put everything outside.  I went to change in the women's toilets and then I went for a swim in the sea.  I also played rugby with my uncle and dad.  After that we had something to eat and we played some more.  When we were all tired we drove back home.  I had a fun day on Father's Day with my family.

Happy Father's Day

On Father's Day we went to my cousin's house for presents.  We gave our dad some presents. We gave him some chocolates and a jacket.  My dad said, "Thank you very much", and he gave my mum a kiss.  After that it was time for us to go back home.

Father's Day

On Father's Day my brother and I asked our uncle if he could help us to get something for my Father on Father's day.  His name is Joseph.  He said, "Ok".  I said, "see you".  I was happy so I sang a happy song.  I sang, "la, la, la, la, la, la, sing the happy song.  La, la, la, la, la, la sing it all day long".
My brother and I said, "Thank you", to my uncle.  Then my uncle too us to the Warehouse.  At the Warehouse we bought a gift for my uncle and my dad.  I bought a book for my dad.  It is called Moon Over Soho.  The author is Ben Aaronovitch.  I picked this book because my dad likes technology and it looks like a good story.  I bought my uncle a really cool hat.  He wanted a hat.  It was cool shopping at the Warehouse.  After we had finsihed shopping for Father's Day we went home. My dad was working so I didn't get to see him but he phoned me to say 'hi' and 'good night'.  I was tired so I went to bed.

Father's Day

On Father's Day I went to church with my family to celebrate Father's Day.  My mum gave my dad a suprise on Sunday.  She gave him some black socks and a pair of blue shoes.  She wrapped them up in some nice blue paper.  She asked us to find some cellotape to do up Dad's present.  My dad loved his suprise that my mum had got for him.  I said, "Happy Father's Day" to my dad.  He said, "Thank you".  I had fun celebrating Father's Day.  I want to celebrate Father's Day again soon!

Happy Father's Day

On Father's Day I gave my dad a Father's Day card when he was sleeping.  Then my family and I went to Sylivia Park.  When we arrived there we went to eat Burger King food.  Next we went to see a movie.  It was called 'I Robot'.  Before the movie started I went and got some popcorn and somethning to drink.  It was a very movie.  It was one good robot and lots of  bad robots.  The good robot beat the bad robots.

After that we went to the Panmure park.  First I played on the monkey bars.  Then I played on the slide with my friend.  His name is JT.  We had lots of fun and then we went back home.

Happy Father's Day

On the weekend I celebrated Father's Day.  My dad and I went to the swimming pools.  It  was cool!  My dad did some bombs in the pool.  I swam up and down the swimming pool.  There were heaps of people at the swimming pools. I found a friend to play with.  My friend's name was Jet.  We played tag.  I was in.  I tagged him and then we played hide and go seek.  It was cool!   Then we got dressed and went home.

Happy Father's Day

On the weekend my dad and I celebrated Farther's Day.  I took my dad to Denny's resaurant.  Before we ate our food my dad paid the Denny person.  Then my dad got some curly fries.  We ate our curly fries and then my dad paid the Denny person for desert.  For desert my dad and I ordered chocolate fudge.  It tasted really good.  I like celebrating Father's Day and so did my dad!

I Like Duffy Books

I like Duffy books becuase they give you a smart head when we read them.  We read them because we want to improve at reading and to get to the next reading level.  When Duffy comes we pick our favourite books.  Yee!  Yee!  We love Duffy books.

After School

Yesterday, after school my mum and I went to the playground.  It was our school playground. First I slid down the slide. I went fast and it was fun.  Then I went on the monkey bars.  I liked swinging on the monkey bars. Next my mum pushed me on the bouncy slide.  I liked doing that too, it was fun.

Getting My Ears Checked

This morning my mum, dad and I went to the doctors.  We went in our car and we got parking outside the doctor’s office.  We went to get my ears checked. 

When we got to the doctor’s place a lady asked me how I was going.  I don’t know her name.  She told me to sit on a big chair. Then she checked both of my ears and said that there was no ear wax.  She told my mum that something was blocking my ear.  The lady showed us a model of the inside of our ears. 

After that the lady said that next time I go to see her I will have to lie down on the bed.  Then she will put something in my ear, and it will help me to hear better.  I am looking forward to going again so that I can hear better.

My Nephew’s Birthday Party

On Sunday I went to Chipmunks with my family.  We went there to celebrate my nephew’s birthday.  His name is Deandre and he turned 2 years old.  Our family all got together to celebrate his birthday at Chipmunks. 

There were a lot of balloons tied up in the little children’s area.  That is the area for children aged between 0 and 4 years old.  Deandre had a birthday cake.  It was a strawberry and orange cake and it said “Happy Birthday Deandre”.  The cake tasted like strawberry and chocolate cake.  It was yum!  We all sang Happy Birthday to Deandre and Deandre danced as we sang to him.  He was happy and I was happy too. 

We also had some ice blocks.  They were all chocolate and mine tasted good.  They were very big and when I had finished eating mine I felt as if I had eaten hundreds of ice blocks.  I had a good time at Deandre’s birthday.  But at the end Deandre’s favourite balloon fell out of the car and it popped.  Deandre cried so I gave him one of my balloons.  I gave him his favourite coloured balloon and he stopped crying.

Sunday Church

On Sunday I went to Mass with my family.  First we had breakfast and then we drove to church in our car.  Sister Evalesi said that it was important to go to Sunday church because us children were part of the school choir.

 

I sat at the front with the other Saint Patrick children, the way Sister Evalesi told us.  While we sang hymns Sister Evalesi played the guitar.  I sang with my best voice.  There were a lot of people at church. 

After Mass I went to Sunday school with my brother Christopher and my mother.  At Sunday school I was given a piece of paper and I drew Saint Patrick’s School.  I also drew my friends and myself playing in the playground.  We sang songs and we played hangman.  I like going to Sunday school because I like to learn about God and sing songs.  After Sunday school we had a cup of tea and then we went home.

Going To Sunday Mass

On Sunday I went to Mass with some of my family.  It was an important Mass for our school because our school children were the choir. 

During the week we all had to practise our singing.  We did singing practice with the whole school in Room 4.  On Friday Room 8 couldn’t do singing practice because they had to do PE games outside with their coach.

Some of my family and I went to church in our family car.  I sat with my school near the front of the church.  The rest of my family went to another church.  My dad had to help the priest at another church.

At church I sang with my school choir and we prayed.  I listened to Father Michael and I remembered to do what my mum and dad tell me to do.

After Mass I went to Sunday school.  Later we had a cup of tea and then we walked home.  I like going to church because it is important for us to remember to listen to our mums and dads, and be friendly towards other people.

During The weekend

During the weekend my two sisters and I watched a movie at our house.  The movie was called ‘Son Of The Mask’.  The movie was really scary and a bit funny. 

The main characters of the movie were a baby, it’s parents, a dog and an old evil man and his evil son.  The man and the woman live together in a house with their dog.  The dog lived outside in his dog house. The woman had to go work.   The man and the woman wanted a baby. 

One day their dog found a magic mask outside their house.  The dog dug a deep hole and hid the mask so that no one else could find it.  The next morning the dog dug up the magic mask and gave it to the man.  The power of the magic mask helped the man and the woman to have a baby.  So far it is a good movie and I hope to see the rest of it next weekend. 

Later I sat down with my family and we discussed going to Disneyland during the next lot of school holidays.  It will be lots of fun.

At My Cousin’s House

At My Cousin’s House

On the weekend my brother and I went to my cousin’s house.  When we arrived we watched youtube.  On youtube we watched the game ‘Clash of the Clans’.  In the game there were 500 golims, 300 wizards, 800 hogriders, 600 giants and 900 maxed pikals.  In the game there were two teams.  I competed against someone.  I don’t know his name.  I had to try to attack all of the things on his base.  If I had broken everything on his base I would have gotten three stars.  I broke some of his things but not all of them, so I got two stars. 

After that we played hide and seek in the house.  My brother was in and my cousin and I hid in the hallway.  My brother found me first and then he found my cousin.  Next we played ball tiggy in the little fale.  The thing I liked doing the best was playing ball tiggy because I wanted to throw the ball at my brother and my cousin.  Later we were all tired so we went to sleep.

Going to Syliva Park

On Sunday I went to Sylvia Park with my mum, nana, auntie and cousin Caleb.  My mum and I went in our car and we parked near Pak and Save.  My auntie, nana and cousin Caleb had to park in the underground car park because there were lots of cars and they took up the whole car park.  When I got out of the car other cars came over the white line so my mum had to carry me to keep me save.

My mum and I got to Pak and Save first.  We waited for my nana, aunty and cousin Caleb.  We saw them come up the stairs.  I ran down to meet them and they walked up the stairs to me. 

First we went to the food court to get something to eat.  I had some marshmellows and a burger.  It tasted very yum!

Then we went to the Warehouse and we looked for some clothes for Caleb.  They were special clothes for him to wear on his birthday.  His birthday is on the 7^th of September.  Caleb will turn 5 years old.  I helped my aunty to find Caleb some birthday clothes.  We got Caleb a light blue jacket.  Later we got Caleb some black shoes from Rebels and I got some pink shoes.  Caleb’s shoes had valcro but my shoes did not.  We also got some lollies at the Warehouse.

Next we went to get my nana a coffee and a man gave Caleb and I some more marshmellows.  I had the minty marshmellows but Caleb doesn’t like mint flavoured. 

After we had finished shopping we were hungry so we went back to the car and then to Burger King for lunch.  I like going to Sylvia Park!

It's raining so we are going to have to play inside today. 

There are a few people here today.  Some people are away.

It's almost summer here in New Zealand and the daffidils are looking pretty.

Going To Lunch

On the weekend I went out to lunch with some of my family.  It was a surprise birthday lunch for my cousin. There were a lot of us.  There was my mum, dad, three sisters and two brothers, one aunt, one uncle and my cousin. 

We went to Sam Woo’s restaurant for lunch.  When we got there we paid the lady behind the counter and then we sat down at a large round table.  We all had a plate and we chose food from the food plates and put them on our plates.  Then we ate the food.  I tried lots of different types of food and we ate all of it.  My favourite food was the chicken because it tasted so, so yummy. 

Next my cousin’s birthday cake arrived.  It was a chocolate and banana cake.  It tasted delicious.  We all sang happy birthday to her.  She smiled and she was very happy. 

After that we gave my cousin her presents.  She got some make up and some nail polish.  My cousin said, “Thank you” to us all for giving her the presents.  

Later we all sat around and talked a little bit.  I like going to Sam Woo’s restaurant because the food tastes good.

Going To Q Rabbit With My Family

On the weekend I went to Q Rabbit with my family to celebrate my cousin Sam’s birthday.  My cousin Sam turned 1 year old.  There was my mum, dad, older sister, three brothers and my brother’ Joe’s girlfriend.

It was a super hero birthday.  This means that we all had to come dressed up as our favourite super hero.  I didn’t dress up because I didn’t want to be a super hero.  My nephew and my younger brother dressed up.  My younger brother is called Jacob and my nephew is called Isaac.  Jacob dressed up as an Ironman and Isaac was dressed up as Spiderman.

One of the activities at Q Rabbit is face painting.  The lady painted my face as a blue and purple fairy.  She put some white stars on my cheeks.  When she had finished I looked pretty.

Then I went on the big slide.  It was big and high.  I slid down very fast and I screamed aaahhhhhh!  I went down with Jacob and Isaac.  They squealed like girls and their noise hurt my ears.  It was lots of fun.

Next we played with guns and pink balls.  We had to shoot the pink balls at other people.  I shot at my nephew and my younger brother.  They yelled aaaahhhhh!  Then they got angry at me and shot me.  I yelled ow!  The two boys laughed at me.  After that we ate pizza, and chicken and chips.

I like going to Q Rabbit with my family.  We all love it and we had lots of fun.

One Weekend

One Weekend

One weekend my sister and I went to Rainbows End.  My sister’s name is Roneeza.  We went with my auntie Noah.  Auntie Noah is my mum’s sister and she lives with us sometimes, mostly on the weekend. 

First, when we got to Rainbows End we got some ice cream.  Then we had a ride on the Roller Coaster.  It went very fast.  It went up and down on tracks.  The tracks were like rail tracks.  It went up some very steep hills and then it stopped.  We all screamed a lot.

After we had gotten off the Roller Coaster we went on the aeroplane.  I could fit on but Roneeza couldn’t because she was too big.  It was like a real aeroplane and I pretended to fly up in the sky.

Next we played in the middle of Rainbows End and then we played in the playground.  We played tag.  I was in and I tried to tag Roneeza.  Then Roneeza tried to tag me but I was very fast, like a Roller Coaster, so Roneeza couldn’t catch me.  I was five years old and Roneeza was six years old.  I had lots of fun at Rainbows End with my sister Roneeza and my auntie Noah.

My Sleepover

On the weekend I went to Mrs Dance’s house to have a sleep over with Daniel and Emma.  Daniel is Mrs Dance’s grandson and Emma is Mrs Dance’s granddaughter.  Daniel is the same age as me.  We are seven years old. 

First we did some science. We did some experiments with pieces of lollipops.  We banged the lollies with a hammer three times to find out how much sugar they had in them.  We didn’t have any measuring things so we couldn’t draw a conclusion as to how much sugar there was in each lolly, but there seemed to be a lot.

After that we went to the dairy with Daniel’s mum.  At the dairy I bought a packet of fruit bursts and an ice block.  The ice block had four flavours in it.  There was mango, chocolate, apple and strawberry.  It tasted delicious!

Then we went back to Mrs Dance’s house.  On the way back we saw a man in our school.  He was standing near the hedge by the school front gate.  He gave me a fright because I didn’t expect to see him there.  We also saw my dad on the other side of the road.  We waved to each other.

When we got back to Mrs Dance’s house we had dinner with Mrs Dance.  Mrs Dance had been away, but she came back for dinner.  We had the same thing for dinner as we had at our house on Friday.  We had nachos and chilli con canea.  I love chilli con canea and it tasted great.

After dinner we went back to Daniel’s room and we did some more science experiments.  Then we had dessert.  First we went down to the fridge in the basement to get the ice cream and then we took it up to the dinning room.  It was passion fruit ice cream and I stirred it up to make cream.  When it’s creamy it is easier and nicer to eat.  Next we went to bed and we got twelve bed toys each to sleep with.

When we got up the next morning we did some more experiments with the lollies.  We heated them until they melted, but then we couldn’t find them, so we concluded that the experiment failed.  Then we watched the cartoon network. 

After that Daniel and I went over to my place and we ate toasted sandwiches together.  Later we made a hut in my room.  My mum helped.  We played some more and then Daniel went home with his mum.  We had lots of fun playing at each other’s houses.  I would like to do it all over again.
